Holiday or Observance
Good Friday is a global event however there are variances. Globally various traditions focus on the reading of the Passion, meet others together to pray, some sing, and still others focus on the seven last words of Christ. It’s also known globally as Holy Friday.
The overall intent is to spend the day (or even a tiny piece of the day) in quiet contemplation.
