Holiday May Day
The Maypole
When I was in elementary school (eons ago) on May 1 we celebrated May Day by building or having a May Pole. We had great fun!
We used a Tetherball Pole and the teacher attached various colors of crepe paper streamers to the top of the pole. A small number of students (8-10) would gather in a circle around the pole and we were each given a colored streamer to hold as we marched and In a circle. A ‘round’ was over when the streamers covered the pole.
