1 John 2:27 ESV

I Corinthians 12:7-11 ESV

When we turn to God through Jesus we receive an anointing of and by the Spirit. The anointing we receive is the same anointing of the Spirit the disciples received on the day of Pentecost.

When we receive the anointing we are called to utilize our gifts of the Spirit.

Our anointing will not be the same as John or Peter received because the Spirit gives us what we need.

I John 2:27 tells us, “But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.”

The anointing is IN us.

It’s difficult to explain but each person is given what they need to accomplish what God called them to do and who God chose them to be.

Some are called to heal the sick and others are called to comfort the sick.

Others are called to be hospitable and care for others.
