New New Day
Chapter 7
I woke up this morning and remembered my Sunday School teacher back home telling us to be thankful and to say thank you to God just like we would say thank you to someone who did something really nice for us.
When we asked her what to be thankful for she told us, “anything and everything!”. She told us the Bible says, "in everything give thanks". We made our own bookmark that said “Give Thanks” 1 Thessalonians 5:18. That bookmark is still in my Bible Book today.
The bookmark helps us to remember to say thank you to God.
Today God I am thankful that we came to grandma’s house. I pray for my dad that You will watch over him. Thank you for my Mom’s new job. Thank you for my new Art Studio Grandma made possible, and thank you for my new neighborhood. If you could send friends I’d really appreciate it. And sorry I haven’t remembered to say my prayers morning and night. It would help if you would remind me. Amen
I sat up and realized I really was thankful for all of those things!
Now that Mom and Grandma brought all my clothes upstairs I can find other clothes to wear that have been packed away.
I have a top with a peach on it and I decided I wanted to wear that so I looked for it and put it on. I even found a pair of jeans that were knee length. It’s getting warmer now so I put those on.
When I went downstairs Grandma was in the kitchen talking to a woman. When she heard me coming down the steps she asked me to come to the kitchen. She introduced me to the woman and told me she taught a Sunday School at Grandma’s church and she invited me to come to her class. She said there were several girls who lived around here and they wanted to me meet me. I was excited about that and Grandma told me we could go to church next Sunday. I was really glad the teacher invited me!
After breakfast I looked outside but I didn’t see any sign of Patty. Everything was quiet at her house and in her yard.
So I went up to the Art Studio to work on the cat drawing.
Before I knew it, Grandma called me to come eat lunch. That afternoon I helped Grandma pot more flowers and we gave all the flowers a drink.
Then Grandma and I fixed dinner. I was excited that Grandma was teaching me to cook. That made me feel special.
A few times I looked out the window but everything was quiet at Patty’s house.
When Mom came home we ate, cleaned the dishes, straightened the kitchen, and I watched one television show. Then it was time for bed.
The days here seem to go by really fast!
I hugged Mom and Grandma, and I washed up, put my p.j.‘s on and Mom came up to say prayers with me. She said Gramma went to bed, too.
I asked her about her job and she said she’s met some nice people.
Thank you Jesus for Mom’s new job!
Amen!
Deborah
