I’ve found that in pretty much all of life we encounter the sacred.
Sometimes we need to look for it.
When I was young and something bad would happen, I tended to get wrapped up in the bad. When I would focus on the bad, guess what grew IN me?
Riiigght!
Bad.
Whatever we focus on sticks with us. That’s how our brain was built.
As I grew older I had to learn to ‘practice’ NOT focusing on the bad. Gradually…ever so gradually God taught me when something bad happens, I need to surrender it to God and focus on God.
Psalm 34:8 tells us to “taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!”
God is Good. Goodness comes from God.
When I turn and surrender my issue to God, I focus on what is sacred and my space is instantly sacred. There is nothing we cannot give to God.
Matthew 6:21 tells us, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Our treasure is God.
The moment that was initially bad is now Sacred.
