Tour with Patty

Monday was the first day I really had a chance to spend time with Patty.

She came to Grandma’s house after breakfast and she wanted to know if I could play outside. I told her I’d check, but I was sure Grandma would say yes. She showed me around the neighborhood and she even told me who had a dog and who had a cat.

She asked if I had a dog or a cat. I said I’d like to have a dog that needs a home from the rescue shelter. Patty thought that was a really cool idea.

After the tour we sat on the back porch and I asked questions about school. We will be in the same grade and she said there were four different classes. I didn’t tell her but I really hoped we would be in the same class.

Lunchtime came sooner than I expected and we decided to meet in her backyard at two o’clock.

That worked out really well for me because I was able to spend time in my Art Studio working on the cat picture.

It’s coming along but not finished:

When I started adding color I noticed the cat’s eyes stood out more.

I love art!

That afternoon we ended up playing a game Patty brought with her.

We had fun laughing.

When it was time for Patty to go home she touched my shoulder and told me she was really glad she met me. I agreed…it was such a blessing that I met a new friend who lived close to Grandma. I realized I hadn’t been homesick once!
