God Weaves
Psalm 147:5 ESV (all)
Revelation 1:8
Psalm 139:7-10
Colossians 1:17
1 Timothy 1:17
What exactly is infinity? Infinity is endless, it has no limits, and is without boundaries. God is infinite which means the power of God has no limits.
God has no fences…no boundaries.
Psalm 147:5 tells us, “Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.”
While that is a difficult truth or concept for man who is finite, when God lives in us we become infinite.
Revelation 1:8 says , “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God. “who is to come, the Almighty.” The alpha and the omega in the book of Revelation refers to the beginning and the end. But we know God is eternal and there is no beginning and end to God. When we dig deeper into the truth we see that God is the one who began and the one who will always be.
Let’s dig deeper.
Psalm 139:7-10 says, “Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.”
There is no place man can go where he will not find God. If we go to heaven, God is there. If we go to hell (Sheol) God is there. I personally struggle with the concept that God is in hell, because if God is there it would not be hell…but even in Seminary I did not find the answer to that (so it’s on my list of things to ask God when I see God face to face).
Colossians 1:17 tells us , God Jesus “is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
So if the beginning and the end is everywhere, it is before all things and it holds everything together. The beginning and the end is everywhere.
1 Timothy 1:17 introduced God as, “the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.”
The book of Timothy was written to Timothy by Paul. The Apostle Paul was explaining to his younger student that the God (Jesus) we worship is the only God who is to be honored forever…in infinity.
There is a beginning and end of man and earth but God is immortal, invisible, with no beginning and no end.
When I was young and I struggled with the beginning and the end my dad explained it using this symbol:
That helped me understand (and it helped me to stop asking and move on to other questions.)
I am after all the queen of questions.
